You MIGHT be able to get by sharing Satellite and OTA, depending on how the satellite provider is managing their spectrum. I would go further and tell you that cable internet and satellite also should not share coax as well. It will likely be announced in PSAs what channels are moving to where, and I would guess that all the affected stations in a market will move at once (as in - same day) (like they did when analog was shutoff).Īs for sharing the coax for Spectrum Internet and OTA TV - that information is correct - it shouldn't be done. The ones that are likely to go off the air are the minor channels. The major channels will still be available. Yes - the upper limit will be going down sometime, channel oacking to (as you said) provide more spectrum for cell service (Which I personally have strong doubts is really needed). ![]() I guess it negates the point of me investing in OTA anything.I don't care what wikipedia article you're talking about - but here are the facts.Ĭurrently - the upper limit on TV is somewhere around 700 MHz. I guess if it's going to get squashed that much OTA is going to get pushed right off the air by cellular crap. Thank you for the correction, I just went off the top of the wikipedia article.
